Once again, the 23rd annual Women of Color STEM Conference brought together women from across the country to network and further their science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) career goals and aspirations.
The theme for this year’s conference was “Press for Progress: It’s Our Time!,” co-hosted by Consumers Energy and Women of Color Magazine. The weekend consisted of:
- More than 50 thought-provoking workshops and seminars with “tracks” ranging from leadership to healthy living;
- A career fair expo featuring nearly 60 companies and graduate schools recruiting aspiring STEM professionals;
- A job readiness certification program designed to help students graduate and transition into successful careers; and
- An awards gala recognizing some of the most distinguished women of color who are revolutionizing today’s STEM fields while inspiring the leaders of tomorrow.
