Appliance Recycling Drop-Off Event in Jackson County

This year, we’re teaming up with Recycling Jackson, Jackson County Conservation District and other community groups to host a recycling drop-off event at the Jackson County Fairgrounds (200 W Ganson St., Jackson, MI 49201) on Saturday, Sept. 23 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For every appliance recycled, Consumers Energy will make a donation to Habitat For Humanity.

In addition, earn a rebate when you bring these eligible items and a copy of your Consumers Energy electric bill:

  • $50* rebate for refrigerators and freezers
  • $15* rebate for window A/Cs and dehumidifiers

Additional items to recycle (not eligible for rebate – do not have to be in working condition):

  • Electronics (Some exclusions apply. For more information visit

  • Household hazardous waste

*Residential electric customers of Consumers Energy are eligible to receive a rebate for each operable appliance turned in. Maximum of two large units and two small units accepted per customer account per year. Refrigerators and freezers must be between 10 to 30 cubic feet, using inside measurements. Rebate forms will be available the day of the event. Valley City Electronics Recycling will wipe clean all recycled computer hard drives.
