Wearing Red for Women’s Heart Health

WearRed2014Consumers Energy employees across Michigan are wearing red to support the American Heart Association Go Red For Women day on Feb. 7.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women, and is more deadly than all forms of cancer combined. It causes one in three women’s deaths each year, killing approximately one woman every minute.

  • Throughout the week, members of the company’s Women’s Advisory Panel and local volunteers have been collecting money at company locations and through an online fundraising site
  • In 2013, employees raised more than $4,000 for the American Heart Association (AHA). The 2014 goal is $5,000
