As part of a week-long leadership training program for Consumers Energy field crew supervisors, six bikes and helmets were recently donated to the Alma Big Brothers Big Sisters and Toys for Tots.
The leadership program is part of our commitment to provide support and ongoing training to supervisory employees. Participants work with their peers while reviewing crew leader roles in terms of safety, leadership, customer value, and productivity. The sessions cover a variety of company-wide issues including customer interactions, company operations and profits, how to handle management changes and accurate reporting and documentation.
“Programs like this will help train the future leaders of our company and ensure that we continue to provide safe, affordable and reliable energy service to our customers now and in the future,” said Dan Malone, senior vice president of distribution and customer operations.
The program concludes with an exercise that requires teams of participating employees to work together and build children’s bikes. The bikes, along with helmets, are donated to underprivileged children through one of the many agencies the company supports.
