Recently, Gov. Rick Snyder issued an official proclamation declaring February 2012 as “Keep Michigan Warm Month.” In an effort to “Keep Michigan Warm,” both in February and throughout the bitter winter months, Community Action Agencies along with many other organizations across the state work to provide assistance to vulnerable residents who may have trouble paying their energy bills.
It is important that we all take action and support the “Keep Michigan Warm Month.” And so, the question arises, “How can I help?” The answer is simple! You can move your feet to help give others heat. Join Consumers Energy and your local Community Action Agency in a Walk for Warmth to help low income families in Michigan. View a list of the events on the Michigan Community Action Agency Association’s website.
As of Feb. 9 at 8 a.m., more than 500 Consumers Energy employees across Michigan have pledged to donate their time and money at a Walk for Warmth. We look forward to seeing you, your family and neighbors at an event!
