Interested in installing a home solar energy system and selling the electricity to Consumers Energy? Then you might be interested in an information session we are holding in Grand Rapids for our residential electric customers.
The session will be held Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Grand Valley State University’s Pew Campus at the Richard M. DeVos Center, Building 5D, Room 136E, 401 West Fulton, Grand Rapids. There is no charge for the session, but you must be registered to attend.
Speakers during the session will provide information on how residential customers can install their own solar energy system as part of Consumers Energy’s Experimental Advanced Renewable Program (EARP). The EARP is a standard-offer contract program that allows customers to generate and sell the entire output of their solar photovoltaic generator to Consumers at a fixed rate. About 85 Michigan residents have installed their own solar energy systems during previous phases of this program.
