If you know of someone in your community who is planning to build or renovate a commercial or industrial building, make sure they are aware of the Consumers Energy New Construction/Renovation Incentive Program. It’s a great way to help design in the benefit of energy efficiency savings into new facilities, major remodeling or renovation projects
The best time to include energy efficient measures is in the design phase. The sooner energy efficient concepts are introduced into building plans, the less expensive it will be to implement the measures and the greater the benefit in terms of long-term energy savings.
The New Construction/Renovation program helps Consumers Energy natural gas and electric customers include energy efficient options in their construction plans. A three-tiered construction incentive program is available where the incentive amount increases depending on improvements to building energy use compared to a baseline standard. Incentives are reserved for projects based on building energy models when compared to the baseline standard.
